Network Rules

Network rules determine whether there is connectivity between two networks, and what type of connectivity is defined. Networks can be connected as follows:

Network address translation (NAT). ISA Server replaces the IP address of the client on the source network with its own IP address.

Route. Client requests from the source network are directly relayed to the destination network. The source client address is included in the request.

For both NAT and route relationships, you can allow traffic by configuring firewall policy rules.

Enterprise-level network rules are applied to all arrays. Enterprise-level network rules are processed after array-level network rules.

How To...

You can perform the following tasks:

	Create network rules: On the Tasks tab, click Create a Network Rule.
	Edit a network rule: In the details pane, select a network rule, and then on the Tasks tab, click Edit Selected Network Rule.
	Delete a network rule: In the details pane, select a network rule, and then on the Tasks tab, click Delete Selected Network Rules.
	Change the rule order: In the details pane, select a network rule, and then on the Tasks tab, click Move Selected Rules Down or Move Selected Rules Up.
	Disable rules: In the details pane, select one or more network rules, and then on the Tasks tab, click Disable Selected Rules.
